Abstract Mackay Day is an annual celebration held over a period of a week in honor of the Mackay family, early benefactors of the University. In 1949, the students, under the direction of English professor William C. Miller, presented a melodrama, The Psychoscope, as part of the Mackay Day events. Written in 1871 by R.M. Daggett and J.T.
