Abstract
Ludowig (Louis) Edmund Wedertz (1824-1881) operated a stage station at Sulpher Springs on the Carson-Aurora road from about 1862-1866 when he moved his family to Aurora for two years. By 1874 they were living in Sulpher Springs again where Clarence R. and Frank Lewis were born. In 1881, Wedertz opened a store in Bridgeport, California, which his widow Niklamine ran after his death in December 1881. The family continued to live in Bridgeport and Smith Valley. Abstract
The Wolf Pack's first mascot was an anthropomorphized wolf named Wolfie, who retired in 1999. His nephew, Alphie, took over the duties of cheering in 1999. In 2007, Alphie was joined by his younger brother, Wolfie Jr. Luna was introduced in 2013 as the sister to Wolfie Jr. and Alphie, following an ASUN naming contest. Abstract
On January 16, 1997, under the auspices of the Nevada Women's History Project, twenty five women who attended the University during World War II and immediately after, 1939-1950, met and recalled the impact of the war on school and on their lives. The collection contains a video recording of the women speaking about her personal experiences, including dating, classes, rationing, housing, and war-related activities.
