Abstract

The Board of Regents was established by the Nevada State Constitution in 1864 with the first Board created in 1865. The Board is responsible for the governance of the institutions comprising the Nevada System of Higher Education. Records consist of agendas, minutes, and materials submitted during Board meetings and used by the secretary of the Board to prepare the final minutes, including Nevada System of Higher Education budget reports.

Abstract Charles Greenhaw was a graduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno, in the late 1960s. He was an assistant professor of English in Arkansas, an English instructor at Elko Community College in 1970, and commuted to Owyhee to teach English to Native Americans. Abstract

Originally founded in 1969 by the Nevada State Legislature as part of the Community College Division, the Western Nevada Community College began providing access to higher education without dedicated buildings, using classrooms throughout the community from Reno to Hawthorne, including the Tahoe Basin. The collection contains material about WNCC including studies, master plans and campus development, cabinet minutes, and catalogs and marketing materials.
