Carson and Colorado Railroad Records
The Carson and Colorado Railroad was incorporated in May 1880 to service the growing Mining Companies of the west Central Nevada and nearby California. Collection contains organizational papers, correspondence, land related documents, financial statements between 1880-1916. Bound volumes include accounts, waybills, freight and tonnage records and train registers.
Flanger to Westwood account
John H. Awl worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for ten years as a locomotive fireman, leaving the company in 1959. Original and revised copy of John Awl's autobiographical account of working December 6, 1955, on the Southern Pacific Railroad's Salt Lake Division branch line from Wendel to Westwood, California.
"Virginia City" World Premiere Collection
The world premiere of the film "Virginia City" took place in Nevada in March 1940 in Reno, Nevada. The collection contains a Southern Pacific Lines brochure for the special train, the schedule and guide for the participants written by screenwriter James "Jimmy" Starr, and biographical information on Starr.
