The Friends of the University Library was established as a permanent organization in 1953 in order to support and assist the University of Nevada, Reno Libraries in enhancing the collection ans services offered by the Libraries. The collection include administrative information, meeting minutes, and events material concerning the organization's fund raising events, programming, sponsored projects, and other activities.
Martha Gould Mayoral Campaign Records
Martha B. Gould was the former director of the Washoe County Libraries and an unsuccessful candidate for mayor of Reno, Nevada in 1995. The collections contains records of Gould's unsuccessful campaign for mayor and includes campaign plan, platform, press release, financial disclosure forms, donor lists, newspaper clippings, letters of support, volunteer lists, survey results, and material about opponent, Jeff Griffin (1994-1995).
Martha Gould Papers
Martha Gould is the former director of Washoe County Library System, presidential appointee to the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS), and an active member of the northern Nevada Community. The collection contains materials that span Martha's career from her first library job in New York City through her retirement, appointment to the NCLIS, and her work with a variety of non-library related organizations in northern Nevada.
