Abstract

The Nevada state chapter of the American Women's Voluntary Services was organized September 1942 with the purpose of the America Women's Voluntary Service was to recruit and train women to do civil defense work, assist with rationing programs, help provide packages to servicemen, and run USOs. The collection includes minutes, 1952-1956; scrapbooks with pamphlets, newspaper clippings, programs, correspondence, and photos, 1942-1968; and a photo album, 1961-1966.
