Abstract
Mary L. Gojack (1936-1985) served in the Nevada State Assembly from 1972-1974 and the Nevada State Senate from 1974-1978. In 1980, Gojack unsuccessfully challenged Paul Laxalt for the US Senate seat, and, in 1982, she ran against Barbara Vucanovich for the newly created Second Congressional District seat. Abstract
Nancy Gomes (1926-1979) was a member of the Washoe County (Nevada) Board of Education, 1972-1976; and the Nevada State Assembly, 1976-1978 where she initiated legislation on public assistance, child welfare, adoption reform, and the initial Nevada juvenile code. Gomes was active in the League of Women Voters, the Center for Religious Life, and Women's Associates, a Consulting Firm.
