Abstract Myra Sauer Ratay is a native of Nevada who grew up in Washoe Valley on the ranch of her parents, Will and Alice Sauer. She is the author of two books on the history of Washoe Valley: Pioneers of the Ponderosa: How Washoe Valley Rescued the Comstock (1973) and Boom Times in Old Washoe City, Nevada (1984).
