Overview The Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company was organized in 1873 with Duane L. Bliss as president and general manger and H. M. Yerington, D. O. Mills and J. A. Rigby as stockholders. It was probably the largest and most extensive lumber operation serving the mines of the Comstock. Collection includes correspondence, company papers, land related documents, financial accounts, lumber statistics and maps from 1858-1946.
Abstract Correspondence, legal papers, financial records, operating and personnel records, maps, schedules, and other records reflecting all phases of the railroad's operations. The records of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad consist of 1,162 volumes, 209 boxes, 132 packages, and 251 drawings and maps. Abstract Included is one volume of correspondence of the business of the State Fish Commission, 1906-1914; sympathy letters on the death of Edward's father, 1910; and personal business letters, many of which deal with distribution of free United States flags to schools in Nevada, 1908-1920.
