Series 2, Subseries 1, Sub-subseries 8 consists of materials related to Goin's Nevada Rock Art project. The project focused on Native American pictographs and petroglyphs across Nevada, and resulted in a 2009 book published through the Black Rock Institute, a publishing company established by Goin and Paul Starrs. In describing the project, Goin writes, "Nevada Rock Art contains rarely seen images that are themselves artifacts of fieldwork conducted throughout the back roads, valleys, summits, drainages, and mountain ridges of Nevada." In order to protect the integrity of rock art sites, several folders of research materials have been restricted because they contain identifying location information that have not been widely publicized.
