Scope and Contents
The Pyramid Lake Task Force was created in 1969 as a result of a meeting between Secretary of the Interior, Walter Hickel and Governors Ronald Reagan of California and Paul Laxalt of Nevada. Its purpose was to address the problem of Pyramid Lake's recession and recommend a possible solution for preserving Pyramid Lake and also, for protecting the needs of the water users on the stream systems. A Pyramid Lake Task Force final report was published in December 1971.

Included are member lists; committee assignments; minutes and agendas of meetings, October 6, 1969 to December 12, 1971; correspondence July 22, 1969 to December 6, 1971; material from the various subcommittees and work groups; statements of testimony at public hearings, February 19, 1970 and November 12, 1971; prospectuses and reports; water related material and maps.
