Scope and Contents
The Nevada Federation of Republican Women Records cover the period of 1964-1976, with the majority of them pertaining to the 1976 presidential campaign. The collection highlights documents regarding how a state-wide political group orchestrates an election.
Of particular interest are manuals issued by the National Republican Committee for leaders, finances, and campaign workers; and two scrapbooks (1964-1969 and 1971-1974) which document specific activities of the Republican Women in the state of Nevada. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, photographs, and newsletters of regional groups. Other files offer information about the 1976 state Republican convention and about Nancy Reagan's visit to Nevada.

Administrative History
Founded in 1950 with the help of United States Senator George Malone, the Nevada Federation of Republican Women is a branch of the national organization that provides a means through which women who share the principles of the Republican Party can join activities and work toward common goals. It assists in political education, cooperates with the national party in electing Republican candidates at all levels, encourages the recruitment of Republican women candidates, and encourages the formation of teen clubs. The Nevada Federation also works to foster loyalty to the Republican Party and supports the objectives and policies of the National Federation of Republican Women.
