William W. Hoyt (1842-?) was a rancher in El Dorado Springs, El Dorado County, California and a miner in Aurora, Nevada Territory from 1863-1864. He served as the superintendent for the California State Department of Engineering in 1913. The collection includes correspondence, 1873-1926; deeds and agreements, 1863-1907; financial statements, 1856-1905; depositions; diaries from Aurora, Nevada Territory, 1863-1864; account books, 1864-1913; photographs; and township plats and manuscript maps concerning the Hoyt family and the land around Diamond Springs and Squaw Hollow Creek, California.
