Administrative History

Goldfield, Nevada, is most well-known for the boom that occurred between 1901, when the town was settled, and 1910, when peak production reached over $10 million dollars. Most major mining operations had ceased by 1920, although a number of mines continued operations into the 1940s. The Sandstorm Kendall Consolidated Mining Company was incorporated just after the peak mining had occurred in Goldfield in 1910.

Incorporated in Arizona with offices in Goldfield, the Sandstorm Kendall Consolidated Mining Company owned 70 acres in the Goldfield Mining District. George Winfield served as president and A. H. Howe, secretary. The company represented the combination of the Sandstorm and Kendall mining properties, both early claims in the Goldfield District. Between 1903 and 1910 (pre-merger), the properties produced $800,000 in rich shipping ore. Beginning in 1910, the properties were developed through the Kendall shaft to a depth of 500 feet, and by winze an additional 200 feet.
