Overview

Zachary Taylor Wilcox was a well-known personality in Carson City, Nevada during the early 1900s and a participant in the Sacramento, California "Days of 49'" held in 1922. Collection contains photocopies of newspaper articles from 1915-1927 made by the Carolyn Mirich during the course of research and writing of her book Crown Prince of the Wiskerinos: Zachary Taylor Wilcox and the Days of '49 Celebration, Sacramento, 1922.

Historic Note

Zachary Taylor Wilcox was a well-known personality in Carson City, Nevada during the early 1900s. He became involved in the Whisker's Club of Camp 49', which was organized as part of the Sacramento, California celebration "The Days of '49" in 1922. The celebration was a citywide commemoration of the founding settlers of the Golden West.
