The Folk and Campbell Shoe Store was one of the many retail stores in the downtown Reno, Nevada commercial sector in the 1920s. Owned by Otis B. Folk and James L. Campbell, the company was located at 21 W. 2nd Street. The store sold shoes designed and manufactured by the Brown Shoe Store of St. Louis, Missouri. Biographical / Historical

Known as the Brown Bilt Shoe Store from the mid-1920s until the name was changed to the Folk and Campbell Shoe Store around 1944 or 1945, the shoe store was one of the many retail businesses in the downtown Reno, Nevada commercial sector for years. Owned by Otis B. Folk and James L. Campbell, the company was located at 21 W. 2nd Street. The store sold shoes designed and manufactured by the Brown Shoe Store of St. Louis, Missouri, which was best known for the use of the "Buster Brown" comic strip character and his dog “Tige” to sell children's shoes beginning in 1904.
