The Richard T. Heap Recollections contains a bound copy of Heap's recollections of his first five years as a field agent with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, titled "Nevada Fish and Game Agent, Elko County: 1971 to 1975: The End of the Beginning" (78 pages). It includes illustrations and stories placed in sections about his professional life as a Fish and Game agent.

Biographical / Historical
Richard T. Heap was born in Reno, Nevada. After graduating from Reno High School, Heap attended the University of Nevada, Reno, graduating in 1971 with a degree in Wildlife Management. During his time at the University, Heap worked part-time during the summer for the Nevada Department of Fish and Game. In June 1971, upon graduation, he received a full-time job. From 1971-1975, Heap worked as a field agent in various game management areas. By 1975, he took a new position in Carson City, marking the end of his time as a field agent. Heap worked for the Nevada Department of Fish and Game for 33 years.
