National Uranium Research Evaluation Report contains the final report of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance report, produced in 1978, and aerial survey photographs of Winnemucca basin and the adjacent San Emidio desert.

Historical Note

The National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) Program was responsible for the collection, analysis, and evaluation of sediment and water samples from closed basins in Nevada to determine their uranium potential; Winnemucca Dry Lake was one of the basins analyzed. Ken Puchlik, working as a contractor for the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, served as a geologist in the Hydrogeochemical Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) program. Puchlik received his BS in Geology from California State University at Los Angeles and an MS in Economic Geology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1972.

Abstract
