Scope and Contents

The Arrowhead D Ranch Photograph Collection contains seventeen photographs depicting the Arrowhead D Ranch, land surrounding the ranch, and men, possibly William Shepherd Dana among others. Of interest is a photograph of the ranch house with a newspaper clipping pasted to the verso regarding Anna Roosevelt Dall, who stayed at the ranch with her children during her divorce.

Historical Note

The Arrowhead D Ranch was located at Sutcliff, Pyramid Lake, Nevada. It was owned by William Shepherd Dana (1892-1939) and his second wife, Ella Marian Lindley (1887-1975). The ranch was well-known for its award-winning horses.

Processing Information

Most of the photographs were at one time pasted into a scrapbook. Prior to collection being received, the photographs were cut from the scrapbook. The black album paper has not been removed.
