Hugh W. Lee Jr. was a collector of railroad memorabilia. The collection contains railroad photographs collected by Lee and documents activities on a number of railroads and networks throughout the United States throughout the first half of the 20th century, primarily the 1940s.
Arranged primarily in alphabetical order by railroad name or location.
Collection originally existed as NC881, the Hugh Lee Railroad Collection. A portion of the materials were transferred to the Nevada Railroad Museum. The materials remaining in NC 881 were re-designated as this photo collection, UNRS-P1987-23.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Donated by Hugh W. Lee, Jr. prior to 1987.
In 2022, as part of a larger project, the information for this photographic collection was moved from a PastPerfect photo database to ArchivesSpace. Due to some technical limitations, some of the existing descriptive information was changed to be more concise.
