Scope and Contents
The Sierra Pacific Power Company Records contains contract agreements for electrical, water and gas utilities between individuals and companies with Sierra Pacific Power Company. Locations are in Northern Nevada areas, such as Lovelock, Yerington, Reno and parts of other counties where further development was taking place, as well as parts of the eastern slope of California, including the Lake Tahoe region.
Contracts are arranged by a running contract number on the outside of each envelope which also includes the name of the individual or company the work is being performed for and date of the contract work. Additional information on the envelope includes what type of agreement was being undertaken, such as electrical extension, water main or water service extension, or gas extension. Some information about the location area may also be written on the envelope but not for all. Each contract has fee information, original signatures, and includes a plat map where the work was carried out. There is no index for the named persons or companies listed for the contracts.
