Scope and Contents

The Forman Shaft Company was formed in 1879 as a joint venture of the Overman Silver Mining Company, the Caledonia Silver Mining Company, the Belcher Silver Mining Company, the Crown Point Gold and Silver Mining Company, and the Segregated Belcher Mining Company. It was created to work, explore, drain, and develop the cooperating mines. Operations of the Forman Shaft ceased in 1884.
