Biographical Note

Irving Jesse Sandorf was a professor and chair of the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Nevada, Reno. Sandorf served as chair of the Nevada State Professional Engineers and vice-president of the Nevada Public Works Board which developed an energy conservation code for the State of Nevada. Material between 1923-1986.

Abstract

Irving Jesse Sandorf was a professor and chair of the Electrical Engineering Department of Nevada, Reno. He developed an energy conversation code for the State of Nevada. The collection includs minutes and reports from the Nevada Commission on Aging; correspondence and research notes on the development of a practical electrical car; correspondence on research materials for the development of the Nevada energy conservation code; reports on technical investigations for clients; a copy of his master's thesis from the University of Nevada; photos of a trip to Nicaragua in 1986 with the Nicaragua Interfaith Committee for Action; prints of nuclear test blasts in Nevada and the overland trail; and a Scenic guidebook through the heart of the Sierra.
