Biographical Note

Stella A. Riebeck was a journalism student at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Silas Earl Ross (1887-1975) was a Nevada funeral director (Ross-Burke Company); member of University of Nevada-Reno faculty (1909-1914) and Board of Regents (1932-1956). Active in the Freemasons from 1908-1975, Ross served as the Nevada Grand Master. Ross also served as chair of the Nevada State Republican Central Committee and Reno City Councilman. He was married to Emily Coffin in 1913; they had one son, Silas Earl Ross Jr. (1916-1967).
