Scope and Contents

The Lenore Kosso Collection on Yugosalvs in Nevada is a collection of materials gathered during research for Kosso's thesis and articles on Yugoslavs in Nevada. Included are notes from newspaper articles; census records; government records from Tonopah, Ely, and White Pine County; and personal interviews with first and second generation Yugoslavs in Nevada. Also present are manuscripts for her article "Jugoslavs in Nevada" (Nevada historical society quarterly, summer and fall, 1985), and "Yugoslavs in Nevada" (Nevada public affair review, 1987, no. 2); bylaws of the White Pine Slavic Club; and one edition of Jugoslavenske novosti (1988), official publication of the Yugoslavs in Nevada.

Biographical Note

Lenore Kosso was formerly manuscript curator of the Special Collections Department, University of Nevada, Reno. Kosso received her M.A. in history in 1974 from the university.
