Biographical Note
Nellie Beasley moved to Reno in 1937 and was a championship bowler as well as a participant in Northern Nevada women's softball. She taught bowling at Reno Bowl and the Town and Country Bowl and was also a bowling instructor for University of Nevada and area high school students. Her husband, Dr. Bud L. Beasley (1910-2004), obtained his B.A. (1934), Master of Education, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nevada. The Bud Beasley Elementary School in Sparks, Nevada, was named in his honor. The Beasleys raised seventeen adopted children.
