Scope and Contents
The Nevada State Normal School Records include a 15-page issue of the University of Nevada Bulletin that describes the Department of Education and the State Normal School, a four-page overview of the Normal School, the Normal School's 11-page Golden Reunion booklet for 1939-1989, and newspaper clippings about some of its alumnae.

Administrative History
The Nevada State Normal School was established by an act of the Legislature on February 7, 1887, with the goal of training teachers for Nevada's rural and graded schools. While affiliated with the University's Department of Education in the College of Arts and Science, it was called the Junior Normal College.
