Harry Michael Chase, Jr. (April 11, 1924-August 12, 1996) served for 25 years as a member of the political science faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno. He was the author of several studies of American foreign policy. After retiring in 1981, he made his home in San Francisco. A memorial service was held September 27, 1996, at the University of Nevada, Reno. Speakers at the service included university president Joseph N. Crowley, professor Don Driggs, Father Leo McFadden, and Chase's former students Tyrus W. Cobb and Larry Struve. In his remarks, Crowley tells the history of the political science department.
