Administrative History
The Samuel A. Goudsmit Memorial Lecture is sponsored by the Physics Department at the University of Nevada, Reno. It was established in 1980 to honor Samuel A. Goudsmit, a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the university, 1975-1978. Lecturers present both a popular lecture and a scholarly colloquium. The sixth annual lecture was presented by Linus Pauling on April 14 and 15, 1985 at the University of Nevada, Reno.
