Biographical / Historical
"The formation of the Human Relations Action Council in 1968 was a direct response to a national crisis in human relations symbolized by the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King. At its first meeting, the Council charged itself with the responsibility of gathering information about the social inequities that affect the educational and other opportunities of Nevada citizens, the publication of this information through all available media, and the active fostering of university and community support for these aims." - From the First Interim Report of the Human Relations Action Council, April 1968-February 1969.
