Administrative History
Paul Laxalt, United States senator 1974-1986, introduced legislation in Congress requesting funds for the Mackay School of Mines expansion program. In appreciation, the Board of Regents approved naming the new building and wing, the Paul Laxalt Mineral Engineering Center.
