Also included are other records that document the creation and accredidation of the Medical School into a four year degree granting institution.

Administrative History

The ground-work to establish a School of Medical Sciences for the University of Nevada began in 1967; the decision to offer professional work in medicine came in 1969; and the following year some existing courses were embraced in a medical sciences division. The first regular class of medical students began work in September, 1971. Originally a two-year medical school, the legislature approved the change to a four-year program in 1977.
