Scope and Contents

The 4-H Centennial Records consist of brochures, committee material, correspondence, expense records, marketing material, notes, planning material, press releases, programs, and reports. National 4-H Centennial material includes the National 4-H Strategic Plan, compact disks, and videotapes. There is correspondence from various University of Nevada Cooperative Extension employees, including John Burton, Alice Good, and Sue Hoffman. There is varied material about program participants, including Father Gregory Boyle, Erin Breen, Frankie Sue Del Papa, and Victoria Gay. There is also a limited edition 4-H Centennial stamped envelope.

Administrative History

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, the National 4-H Council, and cooperative education groups collaborated in developing programming for the 4-H Centennial in 2002. The main focus was the "National Centennial Conversation on Youth Development in the 21st Century." Delegates from Nevada participated in a program in Washington, D.C., on February 26, 2002. Related events were held in various locations in Nevada.
