Historical Note
The University of Nevada Opera Company students staged three performances of "Olivette" at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada, on May 11, May 12 (matinee), and June 2, 1900. The May performances occurred during commencement week.
The performance was an 1880 English language adaptation by H. B. Farnie of Les noces d'Olivette, an opera comique in three acts composed by Edmond Audran, with a libretto by Alfred Duru and Henri Charles Chivot. It premiered in Paris on November 13, 1879.
