Historical Note

Former University President Joseph Crowley began the tradition of the New Student Ceremony in the fall of 1999. Participants include the Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band, the Sierra Honor Guard, the Nevada Singers, the University faculty, and the ASUN President. The Nevada Oath is administered to the new students by the University President during the ceremony.
