The Wolf Pack's first mascot was an anthropomorphized wolf named Wolfie, who retired in 1999. His nephew, Alphie, took over the duties of cheering in 1999. In 2007, Alphie was joined by his younger brother, Wolfie Jr. In 2011, Wolfie Jr. was named the Capital One Mascot of the Year in the tenth annual challenge, winning $20,000 for the University's mascot program. Luna was introduced in 2013 as the sister to Wolfie Jr. and Alphie, following an ASUN naming contest.
