Administrative History
The responsibility of the University Mediation Board is to mediate the resolution of personnel problems as provided for in section 38 of the University of Nevada, Reno Bylaws. The Board is to consist of six members, no two from the same college or unit. Members are appointed by the President for staggered three-year terms from a nomination list compiled by the Executive Board of the Faculty Senate. The Chair of the Board shall be selected annually by the Board from its membership. Upon receiving a request for mediation, the Chair of the Board appoints one member of the Board to act as Mediation Officer, who attempts to resolve the matter to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
