Abstract

The collection consists of three different survey drawings of the University of Nevada campus made in 1949 by Michael A. Price while at student at the university.

Biographical Note

Michael A. Price served in the U. S. Marines during World War II and then attended the University of Nevada on the GI Bill. In 1949 he worked as a draftsman and surveyor, producing drawings of the campus and a plat of a survey. He was awarded a scholarship for his senior year (1951-1952) granted by Kennecott Copper Corporation. After graduation from the Mackay School of Mines with a degree in mining engineering and geology, he was a long-time resident of Mohave County, Arizona, where he worked in the mining industry. He was also a prospector there.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Transferred from the Mohave Museum of History and Arts in 2017, following a 2016 donation of Mr. Price's papers to that institution from his family.
