Larry A. Walters Papers

Larry A. Walters was born on July 26, 1951 and received his Bachelor of Education in Speech and Drama from Central Washington University in 1974, graduating 'with distinction,' and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oregon in 1981. He came to the University of Nevada, Reno as an Assistant Professor, designing (or supervising student designs of) scenery, lighting, or both for approximately 100 plays for the Nevada Repertory Company. He served on the City of Reno Arts and Culture Commission as Commissioner, vice chair and chair. He also served on the Commission’s Grants Panel, on the Board of Directors of Artown (Reno’s month long arts festival) and the Board of the Lear Theatre, and consulting on civic performing arts facilities. He died on December 5, 2016.
