 Collection
Identifier: AC 0238

Scope and Contents

The Lambda Chi Alpha, Epsilon Iota Chapter Records contains materials from both Kappa Lambda, 1923-1926, and the Epsilon Iota chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha, 1928 to the present. Materials include the fraternity's oath, pledge, motto, petition for charter, constitution, statutory code, member rolls, newspaper clippings, and minutes.

There is correspondence from U. S. Senator Alan Bible, who was a charter member of the Epsilon Iota Chapter and served as Chair of the Building Committee of the Alumni Association of the chapter in the 1950s. He is listed on a plaque of Inductees into the Epsilon Iota Legacy Center. Records from 1964-1984 include a drawing of the original fraternity house. Of interest is a photocopy of the first issue of the newsletter, Epsilon Iota Sage, from 1931. The collection includes business records for an extensive restoration of the fraternity house in 2003.

The collection also has fraternal education resources and other materials from the national Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, including several editions of its pledge manual, The Paedagogus. There are also some records for the Crescents of Lambda Chi Alpha, the women's auxiliary to the Epsilon Iota Chapter in Reno.
