Administrative History
The University of Nevada School of Medicine is accredited every seven years by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The LCME's responsibility is to accredit programs of medical education leading to the M.D. degree in the U.S. and its territories, and is recognized by U.S. Secretary of Education, the U.S. Congress and by state, provincial (Canada), and territorial licensure boards. The standards for accreditation have been developed and accepted by the medical community and the governing councils of the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
The responsibility of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) is to accredit programs of medical education leading to the M.D. degree in the U.S. and its territories. The LCME is recognized as the accrediting body for these programs by the U.S. Secretary of Education, the U.S. Congress and by state, provincial (Canada), and territorial licensure boards. The standards for accreditation of medical education programs have been developed and accepted by the medical education community and the governing councils of the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges. The University of Nevada School of Medicine is accredited by the LCME every seven years.
