Scope and Contents

The University of Nevada, Reno, Alumni Association Records includes minutes and correspondence of the Alumni Council and the Executive Committee, budget reports, planning material, reports of assorted alumni committees, homecoming programs, and Golden Reunions, 1977-1993. Included are the records of the Alumni Relations, which works closely with the Association in support of a variety of programs, including homecoming.

Administrative History

The University of Nevada Alumni Association was organized in 1894/95 and encourages the relationship between the university and its alumni to promote the welfare of the institution. Working closely with the Association is the Alumni Relations office, which acts as a liaison between the association and the University, it supports of a variety of programs, including homecoming. The Association's activities include regional chapters, support for student activities, and alumni continuing education. The Association was also instrumental in the restoration of Morrill Hall, the earliest building on campus, in 1974.
