This collection consists of a small binder which has typed copies of the constitution, by-laws, and initiation procedures of the organization. In addition, each woman signed her name in the book. For preservation reasons, the binder was removed and placed into a separate envelope.In 2010, the book Olive Schreiner's Dreams, was transferred to University Archives. Also included is a Cap and Scroll pin, with the Greek letters AOH, Alpha Theta Eta.

During the annual induction of members, the records may be removed from the Archives for use during the ceremony.

Abstract

Cap and Scroll, the Women's Honor Society, began in 1923. The purpose of the organization is to recognize a student's college spirit as demonstrated through activities and scholarship. This collections consists of a small binder which has typed copies of the constitution, by-laws, and initiation procedures of the organizaiton.

Administrative History Note

Cap and Scroll, the University of Nevada, Reno's Women's Honor Society, began in 1922. The purpose of the quasi-secret organization is to recognize a student's college spirit as demonstrated through activities and scholarship. Membership is limited to senior women with high grade point averages who are leaders in campus activities. The 1924 Artemisia listed the organization as "Athenades".
