Biographical / Historical

Koldo San Sebastián is a historian and journalist born in 1953 in Avilés. As a journalist, he collaborated with several national and international media groups. He worked for the newspaper Deia for almost twenty years. Koldo also directed and produced several documentaries for the Basque Public Television (ETB).

His research focuses on the history of the Basque Country and Basque emigration in America. He published several books about these topics, such as Crónicas de postguerra, Historia del Partido Nacionalista Vasco, Nacionalismo y heterodoxia and Memoria de un pueblo en marcha. He collaborated closely with the bibliographer Jon Bilbao to establish Harriluze, the Institute of the Basque Diaspora. He coordinated the book series Basques in the United States, published by the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno.
