Biographical / Historical
Gregory Courtright-Thompson is a researcher from Jacksonville, Illinois. He worked for several years researching his ancestry. He was able to trace his family back to the early sixteenth century in Nafarroa, along the Spanish-French border.
He graduated in 1978 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in History and the other in Political Science, from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He spent the past 12 years researching and collecting genealogical documentation regarding the Courtright (Courtright/Kortright/ Van Kortright/Van Kortryk) side of his family. Part of his research was published in the Journal of Basque Studies in America (Vol. VI – 1985) with the title, "The Spanish Basque Origins of the Courtright (Kortright) Family." He also published a genealogy of the house of Sebastian (THOMPSON, Gregory. (1976). The House of Sebastian: Historical Record of the Van Kortryk or Courtright Family. East Peoria: Wise print).
