Biographical / Historical

Robert Purdue Clark was born in 1940. He completed his BA in political science and Latin American studies in 1962 at Tulane University, New Orleans, and completed his MA and PhD in international studies from Johns Hopkins University. In 1977, Clark became a professor of government and politics in the Department of Public and International Affairs and a coordinator of the interdisciplinary program in global systems at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He is currently retired. He is a renowned expert on the Basque situation and on radical politics, and his research interests go from Spain in the 80s and the transition to democracy to global history and the role of human thermodynamics in globalization.
