Biographical / Historical

Prudencio Ituarte was born April 28, 1883, in Lekeitio, Bizkaia, Basque Country, from Luis Antonio de Ituarte and Leona Goitia.

His father died when he was months old; Prudencio was sent to a farm until he was three. His mother married Antonio Goitia when Prudencio was five. He started working at ten as a fisherman.

After marrying, Prudencio and his wife migrated to Mexico, with his wife's cousin Ramona Chopitea.
