Overview Jean Sybil McElrath (1917-1967) was a Nevada journalist best known for her weekly column, "Tumbleweeds," which was posthumously published by the University of Nevada Press as Aged in Sage in 1964. The collection includes xorrespondence by and about Jean McElrath, material collected by Esther Detweiller Early for a biography about McElrath, and a biographical sketch of McElrath by Early. Many of the letters about Jean are from her brother, Tom McElrath.

Overview On January 16, 1997, under the auspices of the Nevada Women's History Project, twenty five women who attended the University during World War II and immediately after, 1939-1950, met and recalled the impact of the war on school and on their lives. The collection contais a video recording of the women speaking about her personal experiences, including dating, classes, rationing, housing, and war-related activities.
