Overview The Great Basin Basketmakers is an all-volunteer non-profit group founded in 1987 whose goal is to foster an appreciation for the culture, tradition and beauty of the art form, and encourage and support serious basket/fiber art programs in Nevada. These records include grant applications, research materials, records of exhibits and events as well as administrative files.
Overview Joint project between the Reno Gazette Journal and the Nevada Humanities Committee in 1999 to document life in northern Nevada at the turn of the 21st Century. Interviews collected were the background for a series of articles in the Reno Gazette Journal . Collection contains 149 interview tapes conducted at town meetings and with individuals that documents life in northern Nevada prior to the turn of the 21st Century.
Overview Background materials leading up to the publication and formal opening of the book "Weavers of Tradition and Beauty: Basketmakers of the Great Basin" co-authored with Kathleen Curtis (University of Nevada Press, 1995); text written by Fulkerson and photographs by Curtis. Collection includes notes, clippings, pamphlets, photocopies, correspondence with those included in the book and publisher, financial records, and photographs.
