Abstract
On March 28, 1967, when the Nevada legislature was debating authorizing a study on the feasibility of starting a medical school, industrialist Howard Hughes announced through a wire toGovernor Paul Laxalt a pledge of support for the proposed schoolof $200,000-$300,000 per year for 20 years. The records in this collection include the initial correspondence and agreements with Hughes through 1976, and general information on the status of litigation to 1978.
